Spotlight Volunteers and Participants

STEAM for All is honored to spotlight these selected volunteers.

Standout volunteers are selected by our student Event Captain for their excellence, courage, and attention they bring to their responsibilities. Above all, they are wonderful mentors, bringing joy to participants as well as their fellow volunteers.

In addition, STEAM for All would like to thank those volunteers not mentioned on this page for their lasting commitment to each of our events. For a list of PVSA winners, please visit the page under "Volunteer Now!".

I started volunteering with STEAM for All because I attended many of the SfA activities (like All Girls Math Tournament and Hour of Code) when I was in elementary school. I also wanted to give back to my community and make learning more fun for younger students, especially during such unprecedented times. I enjoy the fact that I get to make a difference in students' educational lives by helping them discover their interests in STEAM.

I started volunteering in June of 2020! After completing the YLP program, the first event I volunteered for was the Science Bowl, and it was such an amazing experience. The main reason I enjoy volunteering is because I love making little kids smile, since I have a sibling of my own! I also relish sharing my love for participating in events like Spelling Bee and Math Counts, and also helping others become confident enough to share their talents with the world.

Since I only recently started volunteering with STEAM for All, promoting the Virtual Family Fair was my first volunteer service activity and I'm very glad I was able to contact and promote this event to many students. When I first got this assignment, I didn't even realize how many people I was capable of reaching out to and I'm happy to have contributed to the success of SfA's Virtual Family Fair.

I had started volunteering at SFA because I was recommended to it by a college counseling program. I had decided to join SFA because I had enjoyed my past experiences of volunteering through my middle school and from Boy Scouts. The thing I enjoy most about volunteering is being able to help the community and make others happy. I hope to be able to volunteer more in the future.

I have always wanted to have a broader outreach in my community. Beginning in the Santa Ana Math Club, I took on the role of educating the youth around me. Recognizing the impact and significance of my voice on others, I intertwined these values with my passion for STEAM and persevere in everything I do. Volunteering is not just about being kind or selfless; for me, I believe that volunteering will bring me to strongly influence that one young, creative, and imaginative mind in my community.
