New Year's Invitational

Orange County Math Circle’s 14th annual New Year’s Invitational is coming up soon! It is an in-person MATHCOUNTS-style tournament open to all students in grades 6-8. The tournament has four rounds, each testing and challenging students’ knowledge, speed, and accuracy!

 

This year, the tournament will be $10 through January 4th, 2025 for early bird registration, and $15 thereafter.

​Who: Students in 6th-8th grade
When: Saturday, January 18th, 2025
Time: 12:15 PM to 5:00 PM PST
Where: IN-PERSON at Quail Hill Community Center (39 Shady Canyon Dr, Irvine, CA 92603)
Cost: $10 per student through 1/04/25, $15 per student after 1/04/25
Structure: The competition will consist of a sprint, target, team, and countdown round.

• Teams:

  • Teams can be formed beforehand and consist of 4 students, either all 6th graders or a mix of 7th and 8th graders. 

  • If participants do not have a team, they will be placed into one on the day of the tournament

• Bake Sale:

  • We will have a bake sale with packaged snacks and water! Please consider bringing some change
